About Cedar Badge:

Programs

All programs include daily leadership instruction and hands-on experience participating in a troop or crew.

Scouts

The Scout program consists of separate troops for boys and girls (ages 12 and up). Instruction and activities take place in camp and culminate with an outpost experience to solidify skills learned in impactful leadership classes. This experience is a GAME CHANGER!

Venturing

The Venturing Scout program features co-ed crews (ages 14-20). Planned by Crew youth staff, Venturing activities take place both in and out of camp and may include rafting, hiking, shooting sports, horseback riding, low and high COPE courses, and much more.

Staff

A youth Board of Directors, chosen from prior staff members, is responsible for planning and organizing Cedar Badge. They work devotedly together for 12 months to prepare this experience for YOU!

History

Captain Thomas Jerry Wadsworth, a retired captain in the US Navy, founded Cedar Badge in 1967 at Treasure Mountain Scout Camp. Thousands of youth have benefited from his inspired program over the decades! While some aspects of the program have changed through the years, the influence of Captain Wadsworth remains: BE. KNOW. DO.
